Although Bardia is located quite farther than Chitwan National Park, it is worth to visit as it is less crowded and less disturbed. Thakurdwara is the headquarters of Bardia National Park, where your accommodation will be arranged. It is about 3 hours driving distance from Nepalgunj airport.  If you are driving from Kathmandu to Bardia, it takes about 10-12 hours. If you get stuck in traffic in leaving the Kathmandu or Prithivi Highway, you may need more time. The hillside, farmland and river scenery keeps your mind fresh while riding. You turn left to go to south at Muglin and from Narayangadh you follow the Eat-West highway until you reach Bardia. The East-West Highway is the longest highway in Nepal that lies completely in Terai region which is densely populated, so this drive gives you pictures of some urban areas in Nepal.
